Our Story
Dubbo Lighting Centre was established in the early 1970s by Lynne and Geoff Hartley. In 1978, it was purchased by the Brooks family, who spent 50 years establishing the business as Dubbo and the wider region’s premier choice for lighting and fans.
After five decades of service, the Brooks family sold Dubbo Lighting Centre to Matt and Emma McKay in 2023.
Backed by the best lighting and ceiling fan manufacturers in the world and with a vision to broaden Dubbo’s lighting horizons, Matt and Emma bring a fresh perspective to Dubbo Lighting Centre but retain the great service, knowledge, and dedication that Dubbo has come to expect over the last five decades.
Meet Emma and Matt
Matt and Emma’s professional experience expand Dubbo Lighting Centre’s capacity to supply and service Dubbo’s growing home, rental, and commercial development market.
Matt – a qualified electrician with seven years’ experience as an owner and operator of an electrical business, and Emma – with her design acumen, sales, and project management experience, are the perfect pair to help design, supply and install your next lighting project.

Dubbo Lighting Centre is a member of the Lighting Network – Australia’s largest group of independently owned lighting stores. With increased buying power beyond that of individual stores, Dubbo Lighting Centre has access to a wealth of products and is pleased to be able to pass those benefits onto our customers.
Our Showroom
The showroom is located at 32 Wingewarra Street Dubbo, and boasts an extensive range of decorative pendants, downlights, wall lights, ceiling fans and lighting accessories from a wide selection of manufacturers and suppliers.
